Tacky Castle Cove Estate Still Unsold, Now Comes with Price: $13m

Last time we heard about the Neerim House Estate on a bluff above Middle Harbour in Castle Cove in March, Jonathan Chancellor heard buzz of a sale in the vicinity of $11m. Well, that deal must have fallen through the home’s post-modern cracks, because the listing is now updated with an official price: $13m.

The home at 17 Neerim Road first sold (for land value, presumably) in 1987 for $900k, a big price for Castle Cove in that day but wholly reflective of the gigantic 2 1/2 acre parcel of land. With the new house built, a 1993 record breaking sale (for the suburb, natch) of $4.1m was recorded. Fast forward to 2005 and the home traded once again for around $9m. We personally find the updated price of $13m to be entirely arbitrary, especially considering this home has been associated with price expectations anywhere from $8m to $13m, depending where you look.
Nonetheless, the new owners are in for a treat: this over-the-top home resembles a foreclosed Gold Coast hotel more than a house. Now sit back, pop a valium, and have a glance at some scary photos and listing information below.

Where does one even buy this furniture from?!?

Isabella Yan of Shead Property has the $13m listing (Tony Barron is co-listing): 17 Neerim Street, Castle Cove.
